Elli was born and raised in Corfu, where her music education begun (classical-jazz piano, participation in Corfu’s children choir).

 She graduated from the Sociology Department of the University of Crete (2005).  On a postgraduate level, her academic interest focused on the field of Ethnomusicology. She received her MA degree in University of Limerick, Ireland (2006).

Elli completed her Ph.D. with distinction (2015) in the Music Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, under the guidance of professor Pavlos Kavouras. Meanwhile, her research was funded by the scholarship of the program Heraclitus II.  Her thesis focuses on an Ethnomusicological approach on the Indian communities in Greece.

Since 2009, Elli has been cooperating with the Ethnomusicology and Cultural Anthropology Laboratory of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Moreover, she has worked in The Great Lillian Voudouri Music Library (2008). Her teaching experience includes her participation as an invited speaker at the Department of Music Studies (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) and at the MA program in ‘Music, Culture and Communication: Anthropological and Communicational Approaches of Music” (Department of Communication and Mass Media, University of Athens and Department of Music Studies, University of Athens ).  Since 2006, Elli has participated in conferences and academic programs both in Greece and abroad.

It’s been since 2015 that Elli joined the team of Polyphonica. In this environment, she attempts to transform her theoretical and living experience into a practical, educational and creative level for the children that participate in Polyphonica’s team.
